The MSN website has a story under the Entertainment section titled “TV Shows Guy are Secretly Crazy About“. I haven’t had TV for over two years, so I haven’t seen most of the shows on the list, but the ones I have seen give the lie to the heading. A better title would be “TV Shows Guys Will Absolutely Watch”. Because the target demographic for the MSN site appears to be women 18 – 34, the first slide in the article makes clear that the list is of shows that guys would rather be watching than whatever their better half is interested in. Nonetheless, I’ve never known any man to ‘hide’ the fact that they like the following shows:
I’m a fan of the BBC version, and the couple of episodes of the American version I’ve seen seem rather lame. It’s not that the American’s don’t do the same crazy car-related stunts and supercar test drives, it’s that the American presenters lack the charisma and droll sense of humor (humour?) of their British counterparts. If it comes down to watching the latest episode of Top Gear or the newest Lifetime channel movie, most men will gladly accept a night on the couch if they can watch Clarkson, May, and Hammond do their thing.
This seems like a TV show that women would enjoy: it’s basically shopping. Partners Mike Wolf and Frank Fritz do most of their work in the manly Midwest, and they do a lot of business in masculine items like vintage gas station signs and collectible boys toys. Tip for sellers: if a couple of guys roll up on your property and start buying junk that you’ve had squirreled away for forty years, don’t get greedy.
Man vs. Food
I’ve only seen a few episodes of this series, which seems to consist of host Adam Richman gorging on inhumanly large amounts of food. It feels a lot like No Reservations’ kid brother. I’m a more interested in the food than watching some unshaven dude stuff his pie-hole.

In response to the post Finding Nemo, I got this gem:
My husband and i have been very ecstatic when Peter managed to carry out his investigations through the ideas he gained through your web pages. It is now and again perplexing just to happen to be giving for free key points which usually people today have been trying to sell. So we realize we have you to give thanks to because of that. Most of the explanations you’ve made, the simple site menu, the relationships you can help engender – it’s all extraordinary, and it’s really leading our son and our family recognize that this topic is cool, which is certainly wonderfully fundamental. Thanks for the whole lot!
